One of the interns at Sims Patrick Studio
, Bongi Powell
, particpated in a charity/design competition in February. The whole idea is to design and build a fort out of donated materials (blankets and sheets mainly) which were judged, disassembled and given to a local shelter (Safe House Outreach
). Designers and Architects teamed with local youth to build these forts.
They gathered an abundance of donated materials such as blankets, sheets, and warm clothes. Bongi described the event as "a fun way to gather donations for these families and to have do something creative and fun with the kids that Safe House serves."
