Our objective was to design a space that felt like a natural addition to Augusta, an established hub of Southern sportsman activity. The overall feel is like receiving an old friend over cocktails or a home-cooked meal. The narrating title of our design package was, “Garden & Gun” a concept celebrating traditional pastimes enjoyed by the modern sportsman. Inspiration came from Augusta’s famous industrialists as well as the nearby gun powder plant; dark metals were contrasted with whimsical notes from local flora and fauna.
The functionality of a breakfast buffet transitioning into a steakhouse was a challenge resolved with the selection of timeless art reflecting local landmarks and handsome light fixtures that work with a dimmer to be appropriate in either setting. A nod to the traditional sportswear was included with a cleverly arranged plaid pattern made from different tiles and leather straps with buckle adornments on the dining room chairs.
The Crowne Plaza Augusta bar allows anyone to feel welcome. Its industrial aesthetic is showcased in the gunmetal tile feature wall, while its more feminine side is seen in the floral chair wraps. The outdoors influenced our color palette and can be found mirrored in the herring bone emerald tiles and our upholstery selections. The bird light pendants above the captain's table serve as an upscale, modern, artistic focal point while strung lights on the patio keep the space inviting.
